Pick Your Own Strawberries {2015}
There’s nothing quite like the sweet taste of a strawberry picked fresh off the vine. Gather the family up and head out for a fun adventure to your nearest U-pick strawberry farm! We’ve rounded-up a list of U-pick strawberry locations within driving distance from anywhere in the Lake County area. Many can be found in nearby McHenry County, as well as over the border in Southern Wisconsin. You have a just few short weeks to pick them, so make plans today for a visit to the farm.
Mother Nature can be fickle, so always remember to call ahead for picking conditions before you make the drive. Many farms only accept cash; call ahead or go prepared. Typically, strawberry season starts mid-June and lasts 2-4 weeks, and some farms harvest a second round in late-summer.
