The back-to-school season can feel so expensive with registration fees, fall activity costs, school supplies and clothes (plus those gym shoes!). Shopping at resale stores in Lake County is extremely valuable — the quality of the items combined with the low prices just makes sense! Whether you need another pair of gym shoes for school, jackets, or all of your child’s clothing for the next year — it’s worth the adventure of resale shopping!
We’ve partnered with Cedar Chest Thrift Shop and Green Kids Resale in a friendly competition to show you the value of resale shopping. We’re sending three writers to the shops to put together an outfit for one of their kids — the shop with the most “likes” after five days wins! Be on the lookout across social media to cast your vote!

Drop off clothes from last year as a donation before you shop and you’ll have a clean closet to fill upon your return home! From fashionable pieces, to classic wardrobe staples, it can all be found here. Since it operates as a thrift shop there is no telling what you will find here as everything they have is donated.
Green Kids Resale has everything your children need at resale prices, and the quality of merchandise has only improved over the years. Whether you’d like to sell last year’s clothing and then purchase new for this year, or if you are just in the market for some great deals, Green Kids has an incredible selection of impressive items for all of your kids, along with the cutest new accessories to finish off an outfit. Since Green Kids Resale accepts all seasons of clothing year-round you are guaranteed to find something in your child’s size every time you go.
