If you have a little girl {or boy} that loves all things ballet then clear your calendar for tomorrow night because one of the best, FREE, Nutcracker events is happening at the Cook Park Library.

The Nutcracker Comes to the Library {Tuesday December 3, 2013} is a magical afternoon with one of the most beloved Christmas Tales. We went last year (that is where the pictures are from) and my daughter is still talking about it! She can’t wait to go again this year.
Held at Cook Park Library {Libertyville} in Conjunction with Dance Center North this storytime offers children an up close and personal Nutcracker experiences. Someone from the Dance Center will read the story and then a ballerina in full costume will come out, last year it was the Sugar Plum Fairy, this year it’s the Snow Queen.

When we were there the ballerina answered the kids questions, showed them some moves and the best part taught them all some moves! The room was full of little girls with wonder in their eyes trying to copy her moves. At the end of the storytime the children got to come up to have pictures taken with her and she let them touch her tutu. It’s by far one of the best holiday storytimes around, and bonus No registration required! I would recommend it for children 3-7 years old, younger if they are used to storytimes and can sit as the room can be crowded and we did have to wait.
