Easter is just around the corner and that means for those who celebrate, it’s time to start thinking about filling those Easter baskets. While I love a good old chocolate bunny or cross in mine, with allergies and sensitivities to food, that can become a nightmare. Have no fear, I have compiled a list of must-have, non-candy Easter basket items that kids of all ages are sure to love!
Non-Candy Easter Basket Ideas for Kids and Teenagers
Little ones to age 10
- outdoor chalk
- spring outfit (Green Kids is the perfect place to find something new-to-you!)
- new pair of sandals or shoes (Wal-Mart is the perfect place to shop for inexpensive shoes.)
- puzzles (Dollar Tree has lots of these for only one dollar.)
- Play-Doh or Silly Putty
- kites
- jump rope
- plastic kid-sized garden tools
- bug finding kits and butterfly nets
- a favorite DVD
- crayons and pencils (They now make erasable colored pencils too!)
- coloring books
- board books
- activity books (think get ready for preschool, third grade etc.)
- stickers (these reusable sticker books are great if you have a long car ride)
- beach gear (pails, shovels, balls etc..)
- sunglasses (we’ve gotten the cutest ones at Green Kids)

Tweens and Teens
- a favorite magazine subscription
- hair products (spiking gel, dry shampoo)
- new hair styling tool
- sample size personal care items perfect for purses, lockers or cars (Target, Wal-Mart and Meijer have great travel-size sections)
- nail polish, manicure items, nail files, etc.
