Labor Day weekend is the official end of summer, however that doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop! Lake County is full of fun parades, festivals, and events so you can end summer with a bang. We have rounded up a list of all those events so you can make the most of this final weekend of summer.

Labor Day Parades in Lake County
September 2, 11:00 a.m. - Buffalo Grove Days Parade
Parade Starts at Bernard and Indian Hill Drive, proceeding East on Bernard to Raupp, turning north to disperse at Raupp & St. Mary’s Parkway. Sponsored by Buffalo Restaurant
September 3, 1:00 p.m. Jubilee Days
Over 100 units strong, it’s Illinois’s largest Labor Day Parade. The parade steps, as always, from Shiloh Blvd. (25 St.) and Emmaus Avenue and heads north to 23rd St. It then turns east on 23rd to Sheridan Road and will proceed south on Sheridan, ending at 29th St.

- All Day Long Grove Irish Days, Historic Long Grove
All eyes will be smiling when the historic shopping district of Long Grove presents Irish Days, a celebration of Irish culture, music, food, and drink. Runs daily through September 3 - All Day Annual Jubilee Days, Shiloh Park
Zion’s Labor Day Festival features community-wide activities, including a Queen’s Pageant, concerts, Illinois’s largest Labor Day Parade, fireworks, and many more events and attractions! Runs daily through September 3. - Buffalo Grove Days, Village Hall Campus

Saturday of Labor Day weekend brings the 19th Annual Street Dance hosted by the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Village of Wauconda. Main Street is closed from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., and fills with residents enjoying live bands while gathering groceries for the Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry. - Taste of Serbia, St. Basil Serbian Orthodox Church, Lake Forest/Mettawa
Come early. Stay late. Don’t miss a great time. Taste of Serbia will have great ongoing array of entertainment, things to do, traditional cuisine, music, and beverages. Plenty to do for children and guests of all ages. Learn about the culture. Learn to dance a kolo. Free admission and parking. Runs daily through September 2.
