Recently I wrote about where you can find boots in Lake County and it made me hungry for caramel apples (you’ve known me for a while now, this shouldn’t come as a surprise). I realized that we hadn’t written a post about where you could find caramel apples in our area and felt we needed one.
MAKE YOUR DREAMS A REALITY, FRIENDS.
*I am only listing places that have caramel apples regularly, not apple farms and the like because we assume you already know they have them. But if your normal fall, harvest, apple, pumpkin farm doesn’t have caramel apples, it’s time to look for a new one because you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.
Where to Get Your Hands on Caramel Apples
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
541 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville | (847) 367-6703
According to Alli (one of the writers here at Little Lake County), the apple pie caramel apple “is everything I need in life.” You really don’t need a better testimonial than that, do you?
Long Grove Confectionery
581 Bonner Road, Wauconda | (847) 526-0700 (Nut and Candy Factory Store)
333 Lexington Dr., Buffalo Grove | (847) 459-0269 (Factory Store)
Long Grove (new location opening Fall 2017).
If you have never been to the Long Grove Confectionery, you really need to try the chocolate covered strawberries first. Then get a myrtle THEN your caramel apples. In that exact order.
Something’s Brewing
82 Center St., Grayslake| (847) 543-8600
1126 E. Washington St., Grayslake| (847) 543-1600
Not only does Something’s Brewing have amazing breakfast and lunch options but they also have dessert, which when I am making the decision to eat is key. They offer homemade candies, caramel apples and pastries such as their famous cinnamon rolls.
Morkes
1890 N. Rand Road, Palatine| (847) 359-3454
Morkes not only has caramel apples but they also offer special occasion caramel apples among many others and quite honestly, any website that offers a caramel apple tab is a winner in my book. But I also think about caramel apples when writing about cowboy boots, so maybe don’t use the same compass as me.
If you can’t make the trip to any of the above or, like me, need more than just one caramel apple in one sitting, then we have you covered with two recipes.
Heather has a yummy recipe for taffy apple salad that you really need to try. It’s like eating your caramel apple with a spoon.

And if you are looking for a quick and easy caramel apple recipe, I have a good one for you and it’s only three ingredients (if you don’t count the apples).
