Children’s Neighborhood Museum - Reopening {Round Lake}

You may have read my review of the Round Lake Park District’s Children’s Neighborhood Museum back in August or visited recently on your own. If so, you’ve seen all the wonderful new updates that have taken place!

We recently visited the new and improved Neighborhood Museum and I am happy to report that it still provides just as much entertainment to my two boys, if not more, with the new play areas.

Gone is the plastic jungle gym equipment and exercise machines from the back room, which now features an interactive fishing pond, library, and village hall pretend play area.

The construction zone workshop is now the neighborhood day care pretend play center and the construction tools and equipment have been moved out into the main play area.

Also new is a more extensive jungle gym with two slides which was a big hit with my boys

Old favorites like the fire engine, kitchen, grocery store, and gas station remain but have been spruced up with a new coat of paint. The same fun toys and props still remain but some new additions have also been added.

As a mom, it was nice to see the time and effort that Round Lake Park District clearly put into cleaning up and redecorating this beloved play space for little ones aged 1-6. The fresh coat of paint, new curtains on the imagination stage, and general cleaning really did a lot for this small but imaginative space. If you haven’t visited the Children’s Neighborhood Museum before, I highly recommend you stop in!
