A Lake County Nutcracker Round Up {2011}
When I think of the holidays, I can’t help but think of the Nutcracker Ballet. The iconic music, skillful dancing, amazing costumes and beautiful props are simply magical for children and adults alike. It’s no wonder that this has become a treasured tradition in my family. Sure you can make a trek downtown to see the production, but there are also several local productions right here in Lake County that you can enjoy with the whole family without spending a small fortune.

And, if the idea of taking your wiggly kids to a live theater production makes you twitch (or if your child is simply obsessed like mine is), head on over to Seasons of Long Grove for their Nutcracker Tea Party. Enjoy a variety of loose leaf teas along with finger sandwiches, pastries, muffins and scones all while enjoying a live harpist who will be playing your favorite holiday music. You can take photos wearing one of their many fun hats and get a keepsake ornament to take home. Make your reservations now for this special event which takes place every Saturday and Sunday from November 27th through December 26th (closed Christmas Day, of course) at 2pm. The cost is $14.95 per person.
