1:00 p.m. Family Fun Fridays - The Frog Lady, Round Lake Beach Civic and Cultural Center
{Round Lake Beach} The Frog Lady presents Herpetology (Reptiles & Amphibians) – her MOST requested program! Learn the difference and similarities between reptiles and amphibians and meet over 20 live animals!
1:00 p.m. Tie-Dye for the Fourth of July, Fremont Public Library
{Mundelein } All ages: Bring one white t-shirt that has already been washed and dried, and turn it into a red, white, and blue work of art!
6:30 p.m. Concerts in the Park, Community Park
{Hawthorn Woods} Bring a blanket and picnic to enjoy music outside.
8:00 p.m. Free Movie in the Park, Deerpath Park
{Vernon Hills} Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a free movie under the stars! The movie will begin at dusk.
8:00 p.m. Movie at the Beach, Forest Park Beach
{Lake Forest} Enjoy a night under the stars watching a family friendly movie. They will be showing a winter family film to show us that the holidays are just around the corner. Santa Claus might make a surprise appearance

10:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Courtyard Storytime, Lake Forest Library
{Lake Forest} Bring a blanket and enjoy stories, activities, and much more outside in the east courtyard.
12:00 p.m. Family Summer Camp, Bass Pro Shop
{Gurnee} Daily activities include free crafts, workshops for fishing, water safety trekking and more.
12:00 p.m. Mundelein Community Days
{Mundelein} Event includes musical performances, food, drinks, car show, carnival, activities for kids and adults, and much more.
2:00 p.m. Celebrate Fox Lake, Lakefront Park
{Fox Lake} Family Activities, games, food and beer tent at Lakefront Park begins after the parade.
4:00 p.m. Annual Family Picnic and Fireworks, Central Park
{Grayslake} Annual picnic featuring “Taste of Grayslake”, business booths, kids rides, live music, and games. Fireworks at dust.
6:30 p.m. Free Concert: Kids from Wisconsin, Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center
{Round Lake} The Kids from Wisconsin, currently in their 49th show season are a talented group of 33 KIDS representing 29 different hometowns across Wisconsin.
8:00 p.m. Fireflies by Firelight, ,Ryerson Conservation Area
{Riverwoods} Experience the magic of Ryerson Woods illuminated by the light of thousands of fireflies. Bring the kids out for an old fashioned night of catching (and releasing) fireflies while enjoying a roasted marshmallow next to a cozy campfire.

1:00 p.m. Independence Day Parade & Centennial Festival
{Waukegan} The American Independence Parade starts at 1pm and follows Sheridan Road north to Bowen Park. The Centennial Festival at Bowen Park starts at 2:30 and ncludes a petting zoo, dunk tank, pony rides, main stage, skate park expo, food vendors, arts and crafts and children’s games.
1:00 p.m. Red, White, and Blue, Crabtree Nature Center
{Barrington} Hike Bur Edge Trail and try to spot flowers, fruits or animals wearing America’s Independence Day colors.
1:30 American Raptors, River Trail Nature Center
{Northbrook} Visit our national symbol, the bald eagle, and discover the unique characteristics that help our native birds of prey survive.
8:30 p.m. Movies in the Park, Paulus Park
{Lake Zurich} Bring a picnic basket, blanket and your friends and family and enjoy the movie. We will have popcorn and drinks available for attendees. The movie begins at dusk, this month’s feature is The Secret Life of Pets.
